Wally Fox, 83, Savannah, MO, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at a health care facility in Savannah.
Mr. Fox was born August 3, 1924 in St. Joseph. He attended Central High School, was the former mayor city and council member of Emoryville, CA. He resided in California for 50 years prior to moving to Savannah, MO. He served in the United States Marines during World War II in the Pacific Theater. While there he earned a Presidential Citation, and two purple hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Marion and Helen Ollie (Wollsey) Fox; first wife, Madonna M. Miller; son, James M. Fox; brothers, Robert Fox, and James Fox, Jr.; sister, Beverly Fox; and brother-in-law, Donald W. Burkert;
(Survivors:) sister, Frances Burkert of Savannah; nephew, Donnie Burkert and his wife Mary of Savannah; two nieces, Debra Shea of Kansas City, MO, and Denise Grimm and her husband Douglas of Whitehall, AR; nephew, Douglas Burkert and his wife Amy of Savannah; and several great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fox will be cremated under the direction of Missouri Cremation Services. Private Graveside Services and Interment at Ashland Cemetery at a later date.
