Thomas Owens Allsbury
Thomas Owens Allsbury, age 69, died at his home in Kansas City, MO, on Friday, May 1, after a 7-year battle with prostate cancer.
Tom was born in St. Joseph, the son of Elza and Clara (Gawatz) Allsbury. He attended Christian Brothers High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. He was retired from Tension Envelope Company in Kansas City and St. Clair, PA, after 40 years of service.
He is survived by his wife Mary Frances (McGrew) Allsbury; two daughters, Dr. Melinda (Dr. Dan) Roney, and Cindy (John) McElwee; 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Joel and Alex Roney, and Lindsay and Meghan McElwee, all of Kansas City, MO; and one nephew, Dirk Allsbury, of St. Joseph.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Leroy Allsbury.
Mr. Allsbury has been cremated. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8, 11:00 a.m., at Beth Haven Church, 4810 N. Elmwood, Kansas City, MO, 64119. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
