Obituary
Shari Mize, 81, of Osawatomie, KS passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 27, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to Albert B. and Daphna Mae (Kelly) Cabiness.
She is preceded in death by her parents and only child Susan (Wade) Neufeld.
Survivors include her sister Sandy (Cabiness) Benson of Overland Park, Kansas, three grandchildren, Candice Clark of Paola, Kansas, Holly Neufeld Roth, of Edmond, Oklahoma and Dillon Neufeld of Edmond, Oklahoma, a niece, Debbie (Benson) Coleman and nephew, Randy Benson of Joplin, Missouri, two great-grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews.
Prior to moving to Osawatomie, Kansas, Shari was a dedicated wife and secretary. She loved to plant flowers and decorate her home. Shari loved her family and was a kind and gentle spirited woman. She loved the Lord and taught Awana’s and worked as a Foster Grandparent until her health would not allow her to continue. She lived in a wonderful senior community apartment complex and had many friends and confidants who helped her out often. She loved feeding the birds and was an avid reader. She will be greatly missed by her many delightful neighbors and family.
