1932-2021
Robert Meyer, 88, Lansing, Kansas, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021.
He was born December 5, 1932, to Edwin and Lula (Behrens) Meyer in Clay Center, Kansas. He graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1951.
Robert married Wanda Faye Carver on June 7, 1953, in Enid, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.
He served in the Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a Technical Sergeant. After being stationed in Newfoundland, Greenland, Georgia, Japan, and Texas, he retired to Leavenworth County where he bought 10 acres in the country near Tonganoxie, Kansas. Robert worked at Southwestern Bell for 20 years. He and Wanda enjoyed their retirement by camping for 20 years first in a pop-up trailer and then in a 5th-wheel trailer.
Robert was known for his smile and his orneriness and was loved by anyone lucky enough to be around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debbie Austill; grandson, Spencer Meyer; brother, Marvin Meyer; and sister, Dorothy Wilcox.
Additional survivors include son, David Meyer (Lisa); daughters, Susan Turner (Greg) and Lori Dexter (Delmer); 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
