Obituary
Robert “Bob” Eaton, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 6, 2026.
He was born February 14, 1938 in Maysville, Missouri, to Void and Aneliza (VanDyke) Eaton. Bob grew up in the Gallatin, Missouri, area, where he did work for local farmers.
Bob married Evelen Turner in 1956, and to this union five children were born. They later divorced.
He was a meatcutter for Armour Co. for 25 years, then did HVAC and appliance repair for many years.
He enjoyed hunting deer, rabbits, squirrels, and quail. He loved time spent with family going to quarter-horse shows, where he and his children did barrel racing and pole bending.
An outgoing man who easily made friends and loved to tell stories (all of which were true, according to him), Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter; son-in-law, Bill Wilson; grandsons, Jeremy Eaton, Clinton Eaton, Derrick Eaton, and Brandon Eaton; granddaughter, Frankie Baldwin; and siblings, Marvin Eaton, Tillie Fisher, and Dixie Fisher.
Survivors include his children, Robert Eaton, Jr. (Velina), Randy Eaton (Ellia), Tammy Baldwin (Kenny), Penny Wilson, and Mary Eaton (Mike Fraser); grandchildren, Marlys Cadena, Miranda Ball, Randall Eaton, Jr., Amanda Eaton, Rick Baldwin, Miles Baldwin, Rachel Phelps, Julie Phelps, Jason Baker, Jonathan Lawrence, Heather Wilson, and Sarah Johnson; numerous great-grandchildren; and former wife, Evelyn Redmond (Dale).
Robert Eaton, known fondly to all of us as “Bob,” was so much more than just a neighbor, he was a true cornerstone of our lives. He stepped into our hearts as a steady father figure, a deeply loved uncle, and a cherished grandfather. Bob brought wisdom, warmth, and guidance whenever we needed it most. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him, and it has been an absolute honor to share in his life and carry forward his memory. With all our love, Mike & Robin Young, Stormie, Anna, Jim, Rick, Josh, and Kaitlyn.
