1930-2014
Richard "Dick" Summers, 83, St. Joseph, Missouri died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 20, 1930 to Frank and Myrtle (Young) Summers in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from May 1947 to May 1952 as a Staff Sergeant. He was a foreman for the St. Joseph Light and Power Company in the paint and body maintenance department for seventeen years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and time at the river with all of his buddies.
Mr. Summers was also preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: children, Perry Summers, of the home, Danny Summers (Sharon), Savannah, Missouri, Sandy Foote (Jerry), Pilger, Nebraska and Richard Dean Summers (Connie), Savannah, Missouri; sister, Glenrose Steeb (Merrill), St. Joseph, Missouri; three granddaughters; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his dog, George.
