Otto E. “Sonny” Benson
1929-2018

Otto E. "Sonny" Benson died Saturday Oct. 6, 2018 at Maple Heights in Hiawatha KS.
He was born Oct. 14,1929 to Bynal and Norma Benson in Robinson KS.
Otto married Patricia Lentz Dec. 11, 1951. She preceded him in death May 28, 2012.
Otto retired from the Hiawatha Daily World and later the KU Printing Service.
Survivors include daughters, Julie (Rick) Meyer Topeka KS, Laura (Rick) Jeschke Troy KS; sons, Jim (Janice) Benson Hiawatha KS, John (Nancy) Benson Lawrence KS; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dora Widman, Roy Benson, Nancy Stearns; and special in-laws, Larry Lentz and Dixie Zirkle.
Services will be planned at a later date. The family suggests memorial gifts to Maple Heights Nursing Home and NEK Hospice both in Hiawatha KS.
