Obituary

Marion F. Carter
1928-2016

Marion F. Carter, 88, a resident of Kingston, Missouri passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Hillcrest Manor, Hamilton, Missouri. Marion accepted the Lord's free gift of everlasting life, during his younger years, when he and his siblings and parents attended and were members of the Kingston Federated Church. Marion was born in Caldwell County on February 11, 1928 in the home he lived in until he married.
He was the youngest child and only living son of George and Rosie (Abbott) Carter. He married the love of his life, Betty Jean Wall, on May 1, 1948. Marion and Betty lived most of their married life on the Carter family farm. At age 10 Marion started farming. His dad bought an "A" John Deer tractor and Marion was the only one that operated it. During his married life, he still held down the family farm operation, as well as had numerous jobs on the side, off the farm, to help make ends meet. That farm is still in the family and has been since 1846.
Marion worked his whole life and considered farming his hobby. He also served as a County Commissioner and was a member of Federation Church.
He is the youngest child with four sisters and a baby brother, George A. Carter, whom passed away shortly after birth. Mabel Erikson, Ruth Hiskett, Alice Hiskett and Neoma Gould have all preceded Marion in passing, as well as his wife, whom died in 2008.
He had numerous nieces and nephews and is also survived by his four children, Rhonda McBrayer, Keith Carter, Dennis Carter and Debbie Cox. He was also blessed with ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at a later date for immediate family members.
Mr. Carter was a member of the Missouri Cremation Service.
