1944-2014

Margaret A. Swope, 69, Platte City, Missouri died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at her home.
She was born December 19, 1944 to James and Ruth (McWhinney) Coxwell, Sr. in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
Mrs. Swope graduated from Pasadena California High School and worked for the Kansas Department of Corrections for twenty years until retiring in 1999.
She married Philip Evers Swope on December 8, 1960. He survives of the home.
Margaret was a member of the American Garden Club and the World Wildlife Federation. She was very creative and loved crafting.
She enjoyed reading and gardening and always had time for her grandkids. She was known to many as a walking encyclopedia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James A. Coxwell, Jr.; sister, Penny Wogan; brother, Pete Coxwell; and great-grandson, Johnathan Swope.
Additional Survivors: children, Penny Lind Swope (John Stine), Grandview, Missouri, Kathryn Judith Cook (Roger), Leavenworth, Kansas, Mark Edward Swope (Joannie), Leavenworth, Kansas, Samantha Ann Adams (Frank), Weston, Missouri, Penny Eula Swope, Platte City, Missouri, Scott Allen Swope, Billings, Montana and Charles Philip Swope, Billings, Montana; daughter-in-law, Trudy Swope, St. Louis, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
