1940-2016

Lucille E. Zimmerman, 76, Maryville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in St. Joseph, Missouri due to complications from illness. She was born on January 4, 1940 in Ravenwood, Missouri to Michael and Frances Riley. She was married to John W. Zimmerman, who precedes her in death.
After marrying John, Lucille lived her whole life in Maryville where she worked at the Hitching Post restaurant and then in the cafeterias at the Maryville Middle and High Schools where she doted all her "kids." She was active in her church, St. Gregory's Barbarigo, and she sang in the choir. She liked to bake, especially pies and loved sports of all kinds, supporting Spoofhound and Bearcat athletics whenever possible. She also loved to walk and could be seen around town walking nearly everywhere she went. Lucille was a kind and giving woman who had a smile and encouraging word for anyone who needed it.
Lucille is survived by: daughter, Debbie Snyder (Stan), and their sons, Andy and Sam; son, Kelly Zimmerman (Jessica Whaley), and his sons, Kirk and Zack; son, Rob Zimmerman (Cammi) and his son, Johnathon (Katey) and their daughter, K'Lynne, their son, Jackson, and step-daughter, Darbi Furhman; son, Mick Zimmerman (Julie Hewitt) and her grandchildren, ReAnna Hewitt and Kellin Wilkie; and daughter, Sherry Schoonbeck (Mark), and their children, Allison and Erik.
She is also survived by her siblings, Joan (Riley) Wilson, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Mary Ellen (Riley) Cook, Parkville, Missouri, James Riley, Maryville, Missouri, and Theresa Riley, Maryville, Missouri. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Paul Riley; and her beloved husband.
Farewell Services 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 23, St. Gregory's Catholic Church. The family will gather with friends 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 23, St. Gregory's Catholic Church.
