Loyd Spicer, 96, Guilford, Missouri died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at a healthcare facility in King City, Missouri.
He was born August 27, 1917 to William and Sylvia (Masteller) Spicer in Sac City, Iowa.
He married Macle Miller on November 24, 1945. She survives of the home.
Loyd proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a farmer. He was also a member of Star Chapel UMC on Empire Prairie and loved to dance and play cards.
He liked to hunt, cut wood and was a steward of the land. Mr. Spicer loved his family and helping people in general. He had a great work ethic and was a jack of all trades.
He was preceded in death by his twin sons, Carroll and Carl Spicer; parents; son-in-law, Dale Stockton; brothers, Wayne and Lawrence Spicer; and sister, Eva Richards.
Additional Survivors: daughters, Linda Wheatley (Charles "Junior"), Cynthia Stockton, Marjean McCann (Charles), all of St. Joseph, Missouri and Kimberly Flanders, Platte City, Missouri; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Keith Spicer (Betty); sister, Crystal Mason; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Spicer was a member of the Missouri Cremation Service. Inurnment 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, Leavenworth National Cemetery 150 Muncie Rd, Leavenworth, KS 66048.
