1935-2010

Kay Strader Jensen, 74, Savannah, MO, formerly of Barnard, MO, passed in her sleep Tuesday morning of heart failure at her daughter’s home in Overland Park, KS.
Mrs. Jensen was born March 10, 1935 in Maryville, MO, to Lloyd and Mabel Strader. She attended Kansas University and married Gaylord Jensen in 1954.
Mrs. Jensen was a graduate of Barnard High School. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church and founder of Camp Quality in North America. She was an accomplished musician, seamstress and avid reader.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom Strader; and daughter, Betty Jensen.
(Additional Survivors:) children, Jill Jensen-Chadwick (Darren), Overland Park, KS, Lon Jensen, Keaton Beach, FL, and Cindy Jensen-Smith, Independence, MO; grandchildren, Taylor Silvestro, Johna Jensen-Geist (Rob), Brett Jensen (Pam), Thiera Smith, Anan Smith, Keston Smith, Thoric Smith (Sarah); great grandchildren, Nickolas Jensen.
Memorial Service 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2010, Abundant Life Center, St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, the Family suggests memorial gifts to Camp Quality (www.campqualitynwmo.org/howto help.php).
Mrs. Jensen was a member of the Missouri Cremation Services.
