Kay Lawrence Obituary

Kay E. Lawrence, 63, of Leavenworth, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
Kay was born on December 30, 1962, in Jackson County, Missouri, to Frances (Lada) Simmons. She grew up in Leavenworth, Kansas and attended Immaculata High School. Kay married the love of her life, John Lawrence, on January 30, 1982, beginning a partnership that would last nearly 44 years.
As the wife of a United States Army servicemember, Kay proudly embraced military life for ten years. Following her husband's military service, the family returned to Leavenworth, where Kay worked several jobs before dedicating herself to her family as a homemaker.
Kay found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed spending football season cheering them on. She treasured the time she spent with her daughter and grandson. She especially loved her fur babies; her three dogs, Auggie, Jax, and Saia, two cats, Maddie and Smokie, and her beloved rabbit, Mr. McFluffkins. They brought her comfort, companionship, and joy each day.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances (Lada) Simmons; her husband, John Lawrence; her sister, Carol Finley, and her son-in-law, William Lowe.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Kyle Lowe, and her grandson, Maverick Lowe, along with many family members and friends who will cherish her memory and miss her deeply.
Kay's love for her family, her devotion to those she cared for, and the warmth she brought to those around her will be remembered always.
