Obituary
John R. Koppa, 81, Mayetta, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026.
He was born May 6, 1944 to William and Thelma L. (Page) Koppa in Fort Scott, Kansas.
John proudly served in the U.S. Army and worked at Goodyear Tire until he retired. He also was a Cattle Rancher and Farmer throughout his whole life.
He enjoyed life to the fullest, he enjoyed being a part of everyone’s life. For numerous years he hosted parties at his Shop that would bring together so many families over the years. He raised many Children treating them as if they were his own teaching and showing them how to create and build things. He enjoyed watching his grandkids and great grandkids grow up. He was always about helping anyone that needed it. He loved gardening and he would share everything that came out of the garden even to people passing by that were admiring it. He enjoyed going to the farmer's market and visiting with all. He enjoyed Loki, his dog and all the wild birds that he would feed by the hundreds in the mornings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother-in-Law Chester Kruse, and Great grandson Jaksyn Beasterfeld.
Survivors include his Brother George(Marsha)Koppa of Fort Scott, KS, his Sister Judy Kruse of Hepler, Kansas; Daughters, Tammy (Koppa) Whitson, Della (Koppa) Beasterfeld (Lance Renken); grandchildren, Justina Hartman, Garrett(Emily)Hartman, Chellcie Sparks, Brad (Danielle) Beasterfeld , Alan Beasterfeld; great-grandchildren Alexis Stadler, Alaina and Bo Stilley, Skyler and Adrian Sparks, Emmett, Bryson, and Kennslley Beasterfeld.
