John David Toomay
1923-2011
John David (J.D.) Toomay, Braymer, Mo. was born on March 6th, 1923 in Caldwell County and passed away at his home in Braymer on March 17th, 2001.
He was the son of Donald and Lottie Heavner Toomay. John was a veteran of WWII and retired from the Postal Service. On May 14th, 1948 he married Phyllis June Phillips. John was a member of the Braymer United Methodist Church, The Masonic Lodge, and American Legion Post 117 where he was a Past Commander. He also served on the Black Oak Cemetery Board and was Sunday School Superintendent. He served on the Braymer City Council.
He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, son John Phillip, his parents and sister Donna Merle Foley.
Those who are left to celebrate his life are son Donald Dowell, grandson Donald Lee (Tamara), granddaughter Nissa, great granddaughter Kassidy, great grandson Christopher, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister in law Sandra Henry.
At John's request there will be an informal graveside service at a later date.
Mr. Toomay was a member of the Missouri Cremation Service.
