A Jameson resident, James (Mike) Compton, passed away on October 5, 2013 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center. He was 62.
Services for James (Mike) Compton will be held Friday, Oct 11, 2013 at 10:00 am at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton, MO
Mike was born, January 21, 1951 to James (Jim) and Betty Lou (Simpson) Compton. He was a graduate of Penny High School in Hamilton, Mo and attended NWMSU in Maryville, MO for one year before signing with the KC Royals.
Mike was married to Roberta (Bobbie) Hardin on March 13, 1984.
Mike was employed at Trager Limestone as a heavy equipment operator and served in the United States Air Force.
Mike loved fishing, riding ATVs and was an avid sports fan. The thing he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends.
Mike is survived by his Spouse, Bobbie Compton of the home, 2 Daughters, Staci Ireland (Kevin) of Trenton and Candice Hanks (Lee) of Gower.
Mother, Betty Lou Compton of Gallatin, a brother, Charles (Bubby) Compton of Mirable and a sister, Nancy White of Gower.
5 Grandchildren, Taurren Bottcher (Jacob) of Bethany, Trisha Greenwood (Ivan) of Breckenridge, Trent Ireland of Trenton, Allyson and Matthew Hanks of Gower. 2 Great Grandchildren, Emilyn Bottcher and Rex Greenwood as well as several Uncles, Aunts, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
The family has suggested donations to the Penny High School Alumni Association to purchase a new scoreboard for the football field. Donations may be left at the Funeral Home.
