Eldon Dwain Kerns, 81, Stewartsville, MO, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at his home.
Eldon was born March 22, 1927 in Stewartsville to Silas and Lula Kerns. He was married February 10, 1951 to Mary Ann Cooper.
He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the Navy at Pearl Harbor and South Pacific area.
He is a retired farmer.
Mr. Kerns was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Doris Kempf.
(Survivors:) his wife, Mary Ann of the home; his children, Larry Kerns and wife, Nancy, Clarksdale, MO, Marilyn Waitkoss and husband, Roche, St. Joseph and Kenneth Kerns, Stewartsville; a brother, Darrell Kerns, St. Joseph; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren ; and two step great grandchildren.
Eldon will be cremated under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. No funeral service will be held at Eldon's request. A Private Family Graveside Service at Kerns Freeman Cemetery in Stewartsville at a later date. In lieu of flowers the Family suggests memorials to the Kerns Freeman Cemetery C/O Mary Ann Kerns at the home address.
