Dorothy Marie Armstrong of Overland Park, KS, passed away in her home early Monday morning, November 25, 2024. She was a lifelong resident of Wyandotte County (Kansas City, & Bonner Springs, KS) then moved to Johnson County, (Overland Park, KS) to live with her daughter, on Aug 1, 2023. She loved her family and watching movies. She especially loved the movie classics from 1930’s-the 1950’s.
Dorothy was born in Sedalia, MO to Clifford & Esther (Crawford) Reed on September 9, 1937.
She married George E. Armstrong (Ed), who was the father of their 4 children, Barbara, Janis, Marsha & Danny Armstrong. Dorothy and Ed were married from October 4, 1954, to 1976.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Clifford Cecil Reed, and Esther Orlaney (Crawford) Reed; her brother Clifford David Reed; her daughter, Janis Higbee and three grandchildren, Kerrie Kincaid, Rachel Barnes, and Shawn Williams.
Survived by Dorothy are 4 siblings: Don Reed, (wife) Bonnie; Linda Vest (husband) Jerry; Brenda Folsum, and Steve Reed, (wife) Nancy, and sister-in-law, Patricia Reed (wife of Clifford David Reed-deceased).
Also survived by Dorothy are:
3 children: Barbara Owen, Marsha Williams, and Dan Armstrong.
6 Grandchildren: Robin, Kelly, Ruthie, Matthew, Christopher, and Susie Lynn (daughter of Dorothy’s son Danny).
13 Great-grandchildren: Kristen, Tyler, Jacob, Jessica, Savanna, Adrian, Isaiah, Lexi, Zachariah, Ezekiel, Chris, and Madison.
4 Great-Great-grandchildren: Dominique, Austyn, Elijah, and Arabella; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
