1951-2024
Christa Freeman, 72, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024.
She was born December 27, 1951 in Niederrodenbach, Germany.
She married Douglas Alan Freeman on November 22, 1963. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2023.
She was a nurse in the burn unit at Children’s Mercy Hospital for five or six years before the family moved to California, where Christa was a home health aide for 12 years until retirement.
Christa enjoyed listening to jazz music and playing Yahtzee. While in California, she loved going to Monterey to be on the beach.
She was loved by everybody who knew her and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Douglas; daughter, Paula Griffith; mother and stepfather, Anni and Paul Egan.
Survivors include her son, Doug Freeman (Melissa); grandchildren, Craig, Stevy, Phillip, Tyler, and Eliana; 11 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Ambyr Freeman; brother, John Wiedwald; other extended family members and friends; and beloved dog, Rusty.
