Ed Blackney
1926-2006
Ed Blackney, 79, Maryville, Missouri, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at a St. Joseph, Missouri hospital.
Born July 20, 1926 in Hopkins, Missouri, he lived in Hopkins for most of his life and in Maryville for the past five years.
On May 16, 1948 in Hopkins, Missouri, he married Isabel Jean Canty, who survives of the home.
During the Korean War, he served in the United States Marine Corp.
Mr. Blackney worked as a shop foreman and mechanic at the former Ford Dealer in Hopkins for many years. He was also a farmer for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert Elmer and Lula Mae (Shelton) Blackney; two brothers, Bud and Donald Blackney; and one sister, Mary Buhler.
(Additional Survivors:) a son, Ed A. Blackney, and his wife, Kathy, Maryville, Missouri; a sister, Mable Stewart, Bedford, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Caroline Blackney, Maryville, Missouri; and two grandchildren Hallie and Matt Blackney, Maryville, Missouri.
Mr. Blackney was a member of the Missouri Cremation Services. Services and Interment will be private.
