Richard "Lucky" Wilkerson Obituary

Richard "Lucky" Eugene Wilkerson, 72, of Williamstown, Missouri died at home in his sleep on October 6, 2016.
He was born July 22, 1944, in Quincy, Illinois to Alfred and Martha Wilkerson. Survivors include his mother, Martha Valle of Aurora, Missouri; wife, Julie Wilkerson of Williamstown, Missouri; two daughters, Jenna Wilkerson of Quincy, Illinois and Jodi (Matthew) Wasion of Washington Illinois; one grandson, DJ Gilmer of Quincy, Illinois; siblings, Mance Wilkerson of Hillsboro, Oregon, James Wilkerson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Alfred "Rocky" Wilkerson Jr. of Aurora, Missouri, Will Wilkerson of Joplin, Missouri, and sister Onalie Nye of Davenport, Iowa. In addition, many wonderful nieces, nephews, and other relatives, who were each special to him in their own way. Lucky had an immense number of friends and enjoyed memories of good times he spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his father; stepmother, Leah Leona Wilkerson; and sister, Alice Christine Mullen.
Lucky will be remembered as a caring husband, father, uncle and friend. He enjoyed living a quiet country life while raising his daughters on the farm. His kind-hearted personality shined through to all. His greatest joy was helping others; he was a selfless man who was always giving and assisting.

Lucky spent his final days doing what he loved the most - taking care of his wife and farm, long chats with his daughters and teaching his grandson how to fish. He was a great example of how a man should treat others and will be dearly missed by all.

Abiding by his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with no public services planned. Lucky and the family would like to thank the staff of the Hospice of Northeast Missouri for providing such excellent care.
